Stardate Report 20260823

I worked through the first color change on my hitchhiker scarf this week whilst on a journey to a mountainous region of the Knitting planet with my daughter. Between hot air balloon rides, hot spring soaks, new tattoos and wolf center visits though, my progress was slow. It is highly unlikely I will finish either this project or my towel by the end of the challenge but that’s ok; it’s been a good way to stay focused over the summer.

Ahoy YSSS!
I spent this week on planet cross stitch! I received some very cute kits for my birthday.  I think the subversive cross stitches are always so hilarious but not sure how I feel about my sis-in-law thinking I needed this one! I also got the “I love Ewe” mini cross stitch that can be made a key chain.  It was interesting going back to cross stitch from embroidery. I like how much freer I feel doing embroidery not having to keep checking the pattern, but the ocd in me loves following specific instructions in cross stitch to get the exact outcome.  Oh choices!

Mission Control:  After a late departure from Planet Tunisian Crochet (I spent some more time documenting more of its legendary rainbows), I have successfully made it to Sleeve Island on Planet Knitting. Hoping to have a finished sweater soon!

Attached photo is of the crochet rainbow; I've never seen anything like it!

This week I continued work on my scarf but I also took a class where I learned to spin yarn on a spinning wheel. It was a lot of fun and now I'm dreaming of having my own wheel some day. I'm currently deep in research mode and am making a wishlist.

I'm planning to wet finish the single I spun and make something from it.

20260823 log - The previous transmission was garbled. There is sufficient cake, and blanket decreases have begun. It was my intended progress that was insufficient, but that has been remedied.

This week’s progress will likely be minimal while I tour New Mexico.

Signing off,

Gina

I spent the week wrapping up my research for a test of the Liv Tee. A few ends to weave in but otherwise she’s done and I cannot believe how charming she turned out to be. I cannot wait until the weather cools down enough to wear her!

My research base is still set up on Planet Cross Stitch, and I've made great progress there studying the underground dwellings of the fauna. The most hospitable of new friends being Mole, who was more than happy to show me around the fiber studio in the dwelling. But while I am enjoying my time here, I have made two excursions this week, the first to Planet Knitting to finish up the first sock in a pair that will be a useful addition to my wardrobe as the polar winds begin to blow in. The second, which I am very excited about is a new to me region on Planet Quilting known as Applique. I ventured to a space station that specializes in the supplies I would need while there and found the most charming palette, which I am excited to begin working with next week. Until my journey to Planet Quilting, I plan on bopping back and forth from Planet Knitting to Planet Crochet to hopefully clear my plate a little, so to speak.
