Mission Control, the past couple weeks have been a whirlwind. Between unplanned ship repairs and an unexplained wormhole I have spent the past couple weeks jumping between the fiber universe and other equally unexplored universes. I am pleased to report I am back in the fiber universe and I believe my ship has stabilized after the events of the previous weeks. I am in orbit around plant knitting and have been using fiber completed on a prior visit to work up a Sabai tank top. At this time the wormhole has still damaged my comms, my images may not make it through, but I am hoping my transmission is recieved.

I have finished the towels and I will share my evaluation. Both towels were warped in 100% cotton. For both towels I held two strands together for the weft. The first towel was one 8/2 cotton and one 16/2 linen and the second towel was one 8/2 cotton and one 8/2 cottolin. The cotton/linen towel dries items slightly better than the cotton/cottolin. Since it is a bit more time consuming to weave with the cotton/linen I don't think there is a strong need to do that. Perhaps two strands of cottolin will provide the same result and is easier to manage the two held together. And as for the medallions, I like the look but not sure I would do that again on towels. Overall I am very happy with the finished project.
I do not plan to return to Planet Weaving in the near future.
Then back to Planet Knitting, I am continuing the stockinette stitch in the round with this top. My mission is to finish it by the end of August.

Mayday Space Station!
This Space Traveler has lost her way. I’ve been infected by the evil demon Boredom. I’ve continued on Planet Knitting this week, making meager progress on my Hitchhiker scarf but no other progress this week. Due to the boredom infestation, I did start a towel project yesterday but it rapidly lost my interest since it is linen stitch, which is almost as bad as seed stitch in my book. I will persevere AND need to acknowledge I am currently under the influence of inertia. No photo this week because why?

Greetings, mission control. I am pleased to report that I continued slow, but steady progress on my research this week concerning the cuboid region of Planet Crochet. I have begun to craft an object from the multiplying squares I managed to wrangle last week by soaking in water and allowing to dry: I have now assembled two panels of 9 joined squares, forming roughly square-shaped larger objects (containing many tails on their back sides)! Using a canvas storage receptacle salvaged from my ship, I plan to surround it with these panels in the hope they will enhance the receptacle structurally and aesthetically.
Already, this mission has proceeded unexpectedly: when I performed a standard cleaning protocol on my canvas storage receptacle to prepare it for this project, I was surprised to find that its size reduced dramatically!! In a lucky turn, its dimensions now more closely match those of my joined squares from planet crochet (see attached image). Mission plans will be altered slightly, but improvisation is to be expected and embraced on a journey such as this.

Mission Control: I received an urgent message and hastened my departure from Planet Spinning. According to my sensors, the WIPs on Planet Knitting are completely off-balance and need to be stabilized. I dusted off my needles and quickly finished a scarf. Now I must gather provisions and head out to Sleeve Island, a rather treacherous location on what is typically a very welcoming and cozy environment. Time is of the essence!

Mission Control--my ship has been acting up lately, and the regulator that guides the ships direction seems to be stuck, leaving me unable to reliably relocate to another planet without getting lost. So I've remained on Planet Cross Stitch (not a terrible location to be stranded, mind you, I am quite happy here!) and I've gone through the backlogs of work orders to try to clear some of them up and close them out. I've still got a few left to close before trying to restart the ship, but with any luck, closing some of the open tabs will have fixed the regulator issues.

This week was spent visiting yarn shops to find new yarn for my scarf and organizing my tools. No yarn shops close to me had enough of the colors/brand I wanted so I ended up needing to place an order and wait for it to come in. While I waited, I used the extra time to organize my needles and notions. I went through my cast on projects and reclaimed needles from anything I wasn't going to finish and put everything back where it was supposed to go. Things had gotten a little chaotic over the past several months so this will help me find things easier and just make my crating space nicer to be in.

Travel interval one has been completed. The making of cordage is still on my mind. I found it compelling, and I would like to become proficient at it. I need to source some dog bane to harvest. Research is needed to determine the best season to do so.
My journey involved visits to several other space stations, as they exert a strong attraction. Materials were acquired in Sioux Falls, SD (Prairie Road Yarn), Bozeman, MT (Stix Yarn), Rigby, ID (Wild Roots Fiber), Laramie, WY (Cowgirl Yarns), Mitchell, NE (Brown Sheep), and unexpectedly in Wood River, NE at the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center.
Aside from material acquisition, I finished the Sophie scarf and worked on my c2c crochet blanket during my travels. My goal is to finish my first skein and begin the decrease portion of the blanket this week.

Regardless of my plans to visit other planets, I do seem to always spend the majority of my time on planet knitting
Since my tank for a KAL is with a plant based fiber, I decided to do a quick block to double check length. Glad I did because the armholes are significantly lower that before, so thinking of doing a quick i-cord edging to cinch things up a smidge.
Was also accepted for a test knit because I cannot be trusted to make reasonable decisions. Pattern has been lovely so far!
Hoping to find time this week to spend a bit more time on Planets Spinning and Needle Felting!
