I started on Planet Weaving this week, learning how to add medallions to the stash busting towels. It took three tries for the first row of medallions before I got the hang of it. The second row went pretty well and and third row worked up quickly. Now plain weave to reach the other end and finish it the same.
The knitting that I returned to this week was the summer top, Lakeside. I was drawn to it because of the details I needed to follow to work the top portion. I have reached the underarms and will continue to knit stockinette in the round. Easy, relaxing knitting!

Greetings YSSS!
I have officially completed my mission to Planet Embroidery, at least for the time being.
I finished the last four ornaments in the Kirki Press advent calendar: the pinecone, cookie, Santa, and tree. It truly felt like Christmas in July, and my holiday tree is going to look fantastic this year.
I finally felt like I was getting the hang of handling the small, fiddly parts by taking my time. I am proud to have accomplished the whole set, especially just before they release a new set for this year!

Log 20260802 from Lolo, Montana. It seems Planet Knitting can be accessed from many locales. I visited there from Rapid City, SD, Billings, MT, and now Lolo and Missoula, MT. Though Planet Crochet was always visible, I haven’t spent any time there. I was able to attend an event, Indigipalooza MT, 250+ Years of Resistance, culminating in a program with Robin Wall Kimmerer. Several other intrepid souls also attended and assisted in introducing new native plantings at the Ft. Missoula native plant garden. I was introduced to preparing dog bane stalks to make cordage, as the Indigenous peoples did. My first effort is primitive, but it is clearly rope. Is this a new planet?

Another week has passed and I find myself ever drawn to returning to Planet Cross Stitch. I draw closer and closer to completing this image of the Trillium Forest, and the calmness this work has brought to me is invaluable. I was also fortunate to be able to lure in a Wild Lulu who expressed desire to be blanketed by the image, so it must be a calmness that affects all species in its presence. I was able to continue to work on this image even with this fur creature laying in my lap, thankfully. My control panel states that I have a mere 2000ish stitches left to do, and my mind is already buzzing with what project might come next.

Mission Control: I have passed through a liminal space on Planet Spinning where nights become days. Time almost seems to slow down where it is possible to produce a newly spun skein of yarn in almost no time at all. I'm still trying to comprehend such a possibility, and yet, I have a cheerful and fluffy addition to my spaceship stash. Thankfully, I was able to troubleshoot my imaging equipment to document this discovery for your records. I am tempted to pursue more evidence despite the physical and cognitive effects that resulted from this experience.

This week I spent a lot of time practicing the cast on for my double knit scarf. After many, many tries, I finally got it and worked my way through the first 4 rows of my pattern. I definitely felt myself getting faster each row, which was exciting.
I chose black and light grey Cascade Heritage yarn and am happy with the contrast between colors and the soft, fluffy feel. However, I have found the yarn I chose difficult to work with
It fuzzes up/pills as I am working with it to the point that my stitches become difficult to read. My working yarns also keep trying to stick together. I asked a few friends who knit and they said they've had this issue before and the recommended a few other yarns for me to try.
So while unfortunately I'll be frogging the progress I made this week, I get to take a trip to a few different local yarn stores to pick new yarn this week.

Reentry into regular life has been time-consuming. I have made little Journey progress this week. Unpacking, cooking, doing laundry, and seeing family members have been major distractions. I did spend a wee bit of time on Planet Knitting this week, doing a few rows on my Hitchhiker scarf, and I rolled a ball of yarn for a towel project. I also was able to beam down to the Embroidery planet and work on my mend project; it looks remedial but will fill the need of the mend.

It has been a couple of weeks since my last transmission, so I have much to report concerning my recent adventures on Planet Crochet to catch Mission Control up to speed.
My most recent transmission reported concerns with the curious multiplication of square-like shapes obtained on Planet Crochet. I am happy to report that I have subdued the squares (see image) and they appear to have stopped multiplying for now. Due to their collective similarity, I hypothesize that these squares may converge to form a larger being. I will continue to observe their behavior.
Meanwhile, my ship seems to have unexpectedly picked up some additional squares—hitchhikers on the hull! These appear similar yet unrelated to the squares I have subdued, and a subset of them are duplicating themselves at an alarming rate. There is no telling what their purpose may be, and my goal for now is simply containing them.

This time on Planet Crochet has been interesting and fruitful. However, due to the rapid (and, frankly, concerning) multiplication of these Crochet Squares, I fear I may become trapped on this planet. I expect that much restraint and careful maneuvering must be exercised to escape its gravity. I feel that I may need to chart a course to the next planet soon to continue my mission.
