Hello fellow travelers!
So the hikimg trip gave me lots of time to knit. I finally finished the body! I wasn't expecting so many to comment on my knitting and hiking in the mountains at the same time.
I also got some spinning done once we returned Friday. I somehow stretched the pink bubble bath colorway out longer than the blue calm down colorway, so I made a yarn mini of the leftover.

This week I finished my more complex band. It really did get easier the longer I kept at it. I found myself making fewer and fewer mistakes and I started finding ways to get more efficient as I started to memorize the pattern and learn from my mistakes. I've attached a picture of the completed band as well as my completed sheep band, as I realized I forgot to show a picture of it completed last week.
I have also found myself drawn to Planet Knitting this week, inspired by a beautiful double knit scarf pattern (The Bestiary Scarf by Monstra & Mirabilia). I'm currently working on learning an invisible double knit cast on technique by casting on, undoing it, and casting on again repeatedly until I've worked out all my mistakes. I think I'm very close to being able to move on to knitting the first row and tackling making the edge stitches nice and neat. This is my first time knitting with single pointed needles. The pattern can be worked on circulars but I thought it would be a good opportunity to branch out to other types of needles since I've only ever used circulars. Excited to continue learning and exploring on Planet Knitting!

This week I finally made my way to Planet Needle Felting! I knit and felted (in the wash) a lovely little basket and I’m now working on needle felting a hobbit hole onto it. The design doesn’t look like much yet, so holding off on a picture, but here’s a picture of the basket before and after it was felted.

I have made progress on the weaving of a pair of towels. The first is finished and I'm at the start of the 2nd. My mission for this towel is to add medallions at each end of the towel. This is a new technique for me so hopefully it goes well this week.
I am unable to stay away from planet knitting and I have three projects that I've worked on this week. The green is a summer top showing the back and lace over the shoulder in the pirate's yarn in Everglades Excursion. The sock is using leftover yarns in two completely different yarns and colorways. And the Musselburgh hat is using yarn dyed as a Solar System one-way trip. It starts at the sun and I have completed Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and one round of Jupiter.

The Embroidery planet caught me in a tractor beam and pulled me in this week; I could not resist. I designed my tear mend, transferred the outline to the fabric, and have been freehanding the work. It definitely shows my novice status but the effort has increased my respect for fellow travelers who visit this planet often!
I also finished knitting my Orbit #3, which I hope to wash and block upon my return to my home station. I’ve worn Orbit #3 while I’ve been gone though and have been pleasantly surprised at its softness.

That’s it YSSS- I’m staying on Planet Embroidery until the heat back home is even remarkably tolerable. I will enjoy my Christmas in July and think fondly of the frozen tundras I’ve yet to explore on this planet.
The ornaments I finished this week from Kirki Press seemed more detailed and finicky but have ended up being some of my favorite FO’s. This week I finished the present, orange and wreath. With 8/12 complete I’m thinking I might just power through- we will see how motivated I can get!

Greetings!
I took a quick flight from Planet Spinning over to Planet Knitting this week so that I could finish up the sleeves and block my Lavaca Pullover in Noro Sonata--and this might be my new favorite warm weather sweater! I should also have images of my finished spin around the festival on Planet Spinning soon too. The finished skeins just need a little time to decompress, so in place of showing off those, I will share the gorgeous Luna Moth I spotted earlier this week just outside of my ship! Upon trying on my sweater for fit, I discovered that while wearing this sweater, I begin to transform into shape of the glorious Luna Moth. I do not believe this is a coincidence.

Log 20260726 - The last two weeks I’ve been largely adrift. The Vogons destroyed my home planet, two weeks ahead of schedule. All the tangible mementos from my parents’ home have been lost forever. I’ve consoled myself by visiting Planet Knitting, stitching a Sophie Scarf with handspun acquired from Space Station Yarn Social. The scarf may be the only item I finish this summer.

Mission Control: Returned to Planet Spinning for the final day of the festival after spending several days on Planet Tunisian Crochet. Pleased to report steady progress has been made at capturing the likeness of the textured rainbow, however, I have discovered my imaging device has malfunctioned. I hope to repair it over the coming days and share what I have unearthed so far.
