Travelers' Log: Week Six

Location: Planet Knitting
My transport arrived quickly to planet knitting after leaving planet cross stitch, and we plotted a direct course to Sock Colony. I’ve traveled from the cuff outpost to the toe outpost a few times, but to gather more expansive research I’ve decided to make the reverse expedition. Usually, I travel by way of transport class DPNS, but this trip’s terrain requires using a transport class magic loop ship. This ship and terrain required learning a new takeoff protocol called “Judy’s Magic Cast On”, after a few practice runs, we started out on our excursion. While the terrain is mostly the same, I’ve been paying particular attention in order to avoid holes and gaps in the landscape.
Expeditions on the sock colony require two research trips, so hopefully I can take what I learned on the first and have a smooth result the second time. I look forward to sending transmission on mission completion and sharing my findings.

I have finished the luna fade, Tunisian crochet project! I finished it yesterday night at three o'clock in the morning. I binded off with regular crochet. Before blocking it is 105" or 8,9" in length. Here is pictures

On Planet Quilting, 6 months of clues are complete on the Mystery Quilt. It'll be interesting to see what the 7th clue will be. No one seems to know how many clues are out there.

I stayed on Planet Knitting this week because of family visiting and so many activities. My Space Tank project provided relaxing time for me since I could orbit the body in stockinette stitch and then a short 2 x 2 ribbing. Next week is on to the neckline and armholes using an I-cord finish.

Here is the telemetry data on the Cross-Stitch Matrix :
Visual sensors confirm a highly dense, grid-based micro-environment. From orbit, the topography reads as a seamless macro-image. On the ground, it reveals a brutalist matrix of individual "X" pixels.
Time dilation is real down here. You cannot burn hot through this deployment. Progress is measured in millimeters per hour. It requires hyper-focus and steady hands. The slow-growth architecture forces a meditative mental state necessary for long-duration isolation.
I am officially logging my intent to generate multiple new pattern schematics in upcoming mission cycles. This grid system has massive potential, and I want to push its structural limits on future flights.

Mission Control: I am delighted to report that my warp speed travel between Planets Fiber Processing and Spinning continues to be frictionless. Much progress has been made across a variety of samples. Due to some high heat and lower amounts of rainfall planetside, more than 12 pounds of wool have now been scoured and are now awaiting tags for interior storage. There's particular promise in a Romeldale fleece from a ewe named "Janai" - early reports indicate its bouncy, pillowy quality may be an excellent candidate for cable knitting. Planet Spinning is a joyful place to be and I have been spending my evenings with two cheerful members of my flock (a Starling and a Sparrow) who whistle as we spin together. I have included photos of a bright spin in progress of Targhee and a luxurious Merino, alpaca, camel, and silk yarn that has been plied and is resting on its bobbin before skeining. Sending everyone traveling the Fiber Arts Universe well wishes and a reminder to stretch and hydrate as they complete their voyages!

Hello Space Station,
I seem to have entered a time warp where time has incredibly sped up. This has left me with little time for my knitting experiments this week. I have made some progress on my Orbit knitting project but have done little else. Tomorrow AM I travel via low atmosphere space machine to another knitting planet location for two weeks and am hopeful this break in routine will allow me to escape the time warp and make progress on my experiments. No photo this week as my Orbit project is already packed away for the trip.

I have very exciting news! I cast off the sleeves of my backrooms knit and wove in all current ends! I only have blue duplicate stitch details left before blocking. I anticipate sending finished photos of the sweater shirt in my next transmission!
I also found local hand dyed yarn in the bookstore on my day in town this week! Even more awesome it’s non-superwash, natural dyes, and woman-owned!

I then booked a guided tour on Planet Embroidery, and had the most wonderful time exploring there! Our guide, Anna, was so knowledgeable and the floral views on the planet were made even more exciting as we were taught the nuances between them and how to replicate their beauty!

So I am still on planet knitting. I wasn't that productive this week, as I only got about 3 hours of knitting time in. I got most of that time on Sunday when I took my 2 youngest fishing. They are old enough to go fishing without help, so I just sat in the shade with my knitting.

I've finished my tunisian shawl! It is 8,9" long before blocking. Now im learning how to block that vary shawl. It has measured to 11,8.5" long.
I have continued making the sea glass sweater (knitting). I've also been give a whole bunch of yarn to untangle and to ball up.

My research project on Planet Knitting is coming along well, although it is on a temporary pause as I await pattern updates by the designer. In the meantime, I cast on my final panel for the Gaon cardigan.
