I've been on the move this week. I've traveled to other planets, one of which is unknown.

I finished my visit to Planet Crochet for now. My new found friends had a little pool party for my departure

After departing Planet Crochet, I set my ship's coordinates to an Unknown Planet the inhabitants called "Quilting". I was told this is 4 months of clues of what's being called a "mystery quilt" from the realm of Laundry Basket Quilts. It's interesting.

I plan on visiting this planet more to check on the progress of this quilt - and others. I left and travelled to the well-known Planet, Knitting. I found some fingering yarn in a tote and started on a Leaf Scarf.

It's been a fun week. Will transmit further progress next week.

Full orbit and star mapping of planet cross stitch has been completed! Upon first steps onto the planet, I thought it would be quite effortless but learned it can be a bit deceiving. I will be looking for a permanent housing of my sky chart to display for other travelers, can’t wait to visit more places soon!

The focus required to keep up with this research is maddening. My brain seems covered in fuzz that makes my eyes itch at the back of my head, and yet I can’t stop now. I am so close to finding something that makes sense.

In order to soothe myself, I have started a separate project with a more familiar species size but with linen composition. Although the task is tedious, there really isn’t anything like the wild “mohair”.

[04:15] Encountered a severe operational bottleneck. Threading the fibrous payload through the micro-aperture of the needle tool is highly volatile. The docking sequence requires extreme precision. One micro-miscalculation causes a total systemic collapse of the thread line. Personal frustration levels spiked temporarily; manual dexterity is heavily tested here.

[04:45] Breakthrough achieved. The stylus has successfully pierced the canvas grid. Secure lock established.

[05:00] Entering a steady state. The mechanics are beautifully primitive: Punch. Lift. Slide. Repeat. The physical action is completely repetitive, yet highly addictive.

[05:30] Project Update: We have initiated a side-assignment, fabricating a small-scale containment mat (local classification: "coaster"). The visual blueprint consists of twin scarlet botanical spheres, which the locals call "cherries."

[05:45] Mission Timeline: Significant progress was achieved during the local sector's communal synchronization event—known as "Yarn Social" time—on Thursday. The collective morale and energy of the group accelerated our production output significantly.

[06:00] Emotional Telemetry Update: The endless repetition creates a powerful, euphoric mental loop. The texture emerging on the reverse side of the canvas is dense, soft, and highly satisfying. This planet’s inhabitants clearly use this loop to calm their organic processors after long exploration shifts.

I'm bummed I missed posting last week! Last week I finished my trip to Planet Embroidery. I learned a lot, but found it difficult. My work wasn't perfect, but I look forward to trying again.

While I look forward to my trip to Planet Felting, I must visit the travel agency for supplies. In the meantime, I have landed in the comfort of Planet Knitting. I completed the mystery project, a purple poncho, and will begin working on mystery project #2, a striped scarf.

Howdy YSSS!

I have been traveling back and forth between Planet Knitting and Planet Embroidery this week. I couldn't pass up the “intermediate” tour of Planet Embroidery to build on the skills from my last visit. The tour was incredibly inspiring and, as I discussed with Commander Em, provided a wonderful break from my usual crafting routine.

I have reluctantly set aside my embroidery to prioritize finishing my sister-in-law's birthday gift. With only four days until she arrives, I have a few rows left to knit before blocking and sewing on 19 buttons. It is full steam ahead, and I am making the most of my travel time to reach the finish line!

Back to the weaving project. It is finished! I finished the weaving, secured all the ends with a zig-zag, then washed in hot water and machine dried so they would shrink. I had lining from a set of curtains no longer used and washed it as well to shrink. I ironed on a medium weight fusible stiffener to the woven material. Bag construction from the pattern worked well, especially for the box bottom. The size is 11" x 6" x 15" tall. I am pleased with this project and will likely return in a few weeks to use more of my stash.

I was able to witness the final transformation of the humanoid creature. It seems to have evolved into a child like being. Despite the inherent risks, I have elected to take it home with me. I have recorded its likeness here.

Since leaving the knitting planet, I have taken a quick detour to Planet Cross Stitch. While there I happened upon some small papery tokens. They have been marked with the symbols endemic on this planet. I will take them home and see what I can make with them.

This week has been unexpectedly busy, keeping me from my continued crochet and needle felting exploration. However, I did have time at the very end of the week to take a class on inkle weaving! I got about halfway through my first band and plan to finish it and turn it into earrings and other accessories soon.

Space Traveler’s log 062726: I have spent most of this voyage segment on Planet Knitting, diligently tending the completion of my second experiment with user guide Orbit. Alas, I regret to report that my materials have run short; I am unable to fully complete the experiment. I will be lucky to complete the body of the work. This will be acceptable to me but a wee disappointment as well, as I yearned to see the results of a fluid transition to the last part of the guide with this fiber and thought I had plenty of materials when I commenced my experiment. This likely means I will need to conduct a third experiment with this user guide to see if I can fully complete the experiment as desired.

I AM able to report a landing module visit to an institution the locals of a far settlement (I believe they call it city of iowa) on this planet call a “museum” where I was treated with the visage of “The Black Gold Tapestry”, a 220 foot long embroidered fabric, telling the epic tale of the rise of the oil industry from ancient history to the present time, which on this planet is star date 20260626. It took one woman 9 years to complete this fabulous embroidery, the like of which I have never seen. Truly a significant accomplishment for the artist and a gift to behold it.

I feel like such a tourist as I am trying everything I can possibly squeeze into my day. There are so many things to see and sample. Hello fellow travelers!

Last week I was weaving small leftover scraps into a cardboard loom, but in unknotting the scraps, I found scraps too small to weave. I am big on not throwing out anything, so I started spinning those minute yarn scraps into yarn. I used merino wool (not superwash) and those scraps to make the yarn pictured.

I ran out of scraps of yarn and decided to organize my fabric. In doing so, I started organizing my small pieces and cutying and organizing srap strips and cut a bunch into 1inch by 1 inch squares. I then did a bit of sewing of those 1 inch squares.

I am struggling with getting to knitting again because I need to put the main body of my sweater on needles and... well, I don't find that fun. I make myself do 15 minutes of that a day, but... I don't want to. Good news sleeves are done.

I have been happily camped in the forest on Planet Cross Stitch now for almost 12 weeks, and am pleased to report that I am almost finished cataloging the Fruit Doves that reside here! I expect only a few more hours of studying the final bird, and my research will be complete.

This week I also took a short but very enjoyable information gathering trip to Paducah, a city of importance on Planet Quilting. While there, I managed to spot a sort of cross stitch/quilt hybrid bird at the National Quilt Museum which was just jaw-droppingly beautiful.

I’m back on Planet Cross Stitch now, but my head is spinning with excitement of my next adventure! Tour de Fleece, a huge festival on Planet Spinning, begins soon and I have many friends who will be in attendance, so I look forward to seeing them and celebrating the Tour by doing some spinning myself, but other than that, I think I'm going to travel to wherever my heart wants to go!
